Website participates in fresh ERASMUS+ initiative, 'TRIREME', focused on automotive competencies
The European automotive industry is about to embark on an exciting journey, as the 'Digital & Green Skills Towards Future of the Mobility Ecosystem' (TRIREME) project officially kicked off on April 11, 2023. This ambitious initiative, funded by the European Commission with a €4 million grant, brings together a 32-partner strong consortium with the common goal of addressing the societal and economical challenges arising from the transformation of the automotive ecosystem.
TRIREME, a partner of the Automotive Skills Alliance and the coordinating platform of this project, spans across 15 European countries. The consortium is officially known as the 'Digital & Green Skills Towards Future of the Mobility Ecosystem' (TRIREME), and its primary focus is on the future mobility sector.
The Athens Development & Destination Management Agency (ADDMA), which is associated with the City of Athens, manages the website supporting this Erasmus+ funded project. The project will operate across these 15 European countries, aiming to boost re-skilling and up-skilling programs in the automotive sector.
One of the key objectives of TRIREME is to identify new and emerging occupational profiles in the sector, along with a sectoral roadmap and strategy. The project will also develop a global methodology, concepts, and strategy. To achieve this, TRIREME partners will focus on collecting skills intelligence and identifying automotive sector trends.
In addition to this, the project will map re-/up-skilling projects at the regional level and develop training modules and material based on the sector's needs. The project will also develop trainings and explore the impacts of the ecosystem transition. A piloting report and training material will be developed as part of this initiative.
The website will contribute to the ERASMUS+ funded project, focusing on identifying skills gaps and challenges in the European automotive supply industry. By addressing these issues, TRIREME aims to help the industry adapt to the changing landscape of the automotive ecosystem, which currently employs 14.6 million people in the EU.
TRIREME held its inaugural event in Brussels to mark the beginning of this groundbreaking project. As the project progresses, it is expected to make significant strides in shaping the future of the automotive sector, ensuring its continued growth and competitiveness in the digital and green age.
