Two 21-Year-Olds Arrested for Violence in Wedel - Wedel cracks down on youth crime with multiple arrests at Hans-Böckler-Platz
Authorities in Wedel have stepped up efforts to tackle youth crime at Hans-Böckler-Platz. Recent operations led to multiple arrests, with two men now facing serious charges. The crackdown follows a string of violent incidents in the area over the past year.
An investigative task force was set up in 2022 after a surge in offences around Hans-Böckler-Platz. Police first took action in June, arresting a 19-year-old and a 25-year-old on suspicion of aggravated assault.
In September, raids uncovered cash, drugs, and weapons. Ten suspects, aged between 16 and 23, were detained as part of the operation. The focus remained on disrupting criminal activity linked to the square.
On November 26, two 21-year-old men were arrested. One was remanded in custody, while both now face multiple assault charges. The identity of the officer leading the investigation has not been disclosed.
The latest arrests mark an escalation in the campaign against youth-related crime in Wedel. Prosecutors and police continue to target violent behaviour at Hans-Böckler-Platz. The investigations remain ongoing, with further charges possible.
