Weiherstadt residents challenge RWE AG’s waste mining plans over noise and traffic fears

Residents near Weiherstadt in Immenstadt have raised concerns over a planned waste mining operation northwest of their neighborhood. The project, led by RWE AG and Result-Recycling, has prompted questions about noise, construction traffic, and local tax benefits. Authorities and company representatives recently met with locals to address their worries.

The proposed excavation landfill, located north of Weiherstadt, is a joint effort between RWE AG, local municipalities, and environmental regulators. Residents have expressed unease about potential disruptions, including noise from heavy machinery and increased lorry movements during construction.

The discussions between residents, company representatives, and authorities are ongoing. Result-Recycling and RWE AG have committed to further engagement as the project moves forward. Final decisions on permits and operational details will depend on environmental assessments and continued community input.
