Weißenburg Jewelers Targeted in String of Robberies
Weißenburg, a town in Central Franconia, has been plagued by a series of robberies targeting jewelers. Tanju Ersen, a local jeweler, has been the victim of two successful and two attempted robberies since July 2025.
The first robbery at Ersen's shop on July 27 resulted in €10,000 worth of damage and stolen jewelry. Despite the setback, Ersen decided to restock his shop. However, his hopes were dashed when another attempted break-in occurred on October 27. Authorities are appealing for witnesses and urge anyone with information to come forward.
Wolfgang Klisch, another jeweler in Weißenburg, also fell victim to two attempted break-ins in October. These incidents have left Ersen feeling powerless and distressed. The Ansbach Criminal Police are investigating the robberies and attempted break-ins in Weißenburg and nearby regions, but the identities of the perpetrators remain unknown.
The repeated attacks on jewelers in Weißenburg have raised concerns among local businesses and residents. Authorities continue to investigate the robberies, and the public is encouraged to provide any information that could help solve these cases.
