Werner Schuster re-elected as chairman of the Eichenzell branch of the VdK
The Eichenzell branch of the VdK has elected new leaders during its latest meeting. Werner Schuster was unanimously re-elected as chairman, taking on the role after a difficult personal period. Other key positions were also filled, including a new women’s representative and fresh faces in administrative roles.
Werner Schuster will continue as chairman for another term, having already served in the position for eight years. His re-election came despite a challenging time following the recent loss of his wife. The branch also recognised his long-standing commitment to social advocacy.
Reinhold Latsch received a certificate of appreciation for 25 years of membership. The ceremony highlighted his dedication to the organisation over the decades.
New appointments included Angelina Grauel as the women’s representative, replacing Iris Bock, who stepped down due to health reasons. Jonas Hahner was elected as the new secretary, while Markus Hahner took on the role of treasurer. These changes aim to strengthen the branch’s leadership as it moves forward.
The Eichenzell branch remains active in promoting social inclusion and intergenerational activities. Plans for 2026 include continued events focused on social justice and solidarity. However, the wider district faces challenges, with nineteen local branches currently lacking leadership. Just four members of the district board are managing a broad range of tasks across the region.
The VdK Eichenzell branch now has a refreshed leadership team under Schuster’s guidance. With new officers in place, the group will push ahead with its community-focused initiatives. The coming year will test their ability to maintain engagement while addressing wider organisational gaps.
