Christmas Tree and Turkey at the White House - White House Christmas Tree Arrives as Turkeys Await Presidential Pardon

The White House has welcomed its official Christmas tree for the holiday season. This year's tree will be displayed in the Blue Room, marking the start of festive preparations. Meanwhile, two turkeys named Gobble and Waddle are awaiting their fate in Washington D.C.'s annual turkey pardoning ceremony.

First Lady Melania Trump officially received the Christmas tree during a ceremony on the White House grounds. The tree, now in place, will serve as the centrepiece of holiday decorations.

Before the pardoning event, Gobble and Waddle are staying at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington D.C. The public has been invited to vote on which turkey will be spared during Tuesday's ceremony. Mrs Trump encouraged participation in the online poll.

After the pardoning, both turkeys will be sent to a farm in North Carolina to live out their days.

The annual turkey pardoning tradition continues with Gobble and Waddle as this year's contenders. Once the ceremony concludes, the birds will retire to a new home. The Christmas tree, now in the Blue Room, will remain on display throughout the holiday season.
