Wiesbaden’s €124M Rheinhohe Sports Park to Transform City Leisure by 2028
Wiesbaden is set to gain a major new sports and leisure hub with the Rheinhohe Sports Park. The €124.4 million project will replace the old news on Mainzer Straße and introduce modern facilities for residents. Officials have described it as a landmark development for the city.
The construction permit for the Rheinhohe Sports Park was formally issued on December 22, 2023. Work is now scheduled to start in January 2024, with the entire complex expected to finish by late 2027. The grand opening is planned for mid-2028.
The project will feature a new leisure pool, a sauna complex, and an ice sports hall. These additions aim to expand the city’s recreational news significantly. SEG Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft Wiesbaden mbH is managing the development, while Mattiaqua, led by CEO Eric Alberti, is involved in the water technology aspects.
Once complete, the Rheinhohe Sports Park will stand out as a key part of Wiesbaden’s skyline. It will also take over from the existing news on Mainzer Straße, which will be decommissioned as part of the upgrade.
The new sports park represents a long-term investment in Wiesbaden’s infrastructure. Residents will gain access to modern swimming, wellness, and ice sports facilities by 2028. The project’s scale and scope mark one of the city’s largest recent developments.
