Willich's Social Committee Tackles Loneliness, Rental Costs, and More
The Social Committee of Willich has been actively addressing various social issues. They've tackled topics like refugee support, inclusive housing, and digital services for seniors. The committee has also taken steps to combat rising rental costs.
During the last legislative period (2020-2025), the committee and administration collaborated on over 110 topics. They've also planned an 'Action Year against Loneliness' in November '25 to tackle senior isolation.
Looking ahead, the committee is expanding the 'Living together and aging in Willich' concept to all districts by 2027. The KRUMM community center in Wekeln will serve as an anchor point for this expansion.
