Winners of the 'Army Wings' contest were awarded in Astana

The winners of Kazakhstan’s Army’s Elite contest were recognised at a ceremony in Astana. Defense Minister Lieutenant General Daulet Kosanov presented awards to outstanding service members from various military branches. The event highlighted the skills and dedication of the country’s armed forces.

The contest honoured professionals across multiple specialisations. Among the winners were combat pilots, naval personnel, signal corps experts, sappers, and medical teams. Each nominee was selected for their expertise, discipline, and teamwork under pressure.

During the ceremony, Kosanov commended the winners for their resilience, technical knowledge, and strong camaraderie. He stressed that these qualities were essential for modern military operations. The minister also outlined key priorities for Kazakhstan’s defence strategy: improving mobility, adopting advanced technologies, and focusing on the welfare of service members. The role of digital innovation in military operations was another major theme. Kosanov highlighted the growing use of information technologies in command systems, law enforcement coordination, medical tracking, and public service delivery. These upgrades aim to enhance efficiency and responsiveness across the armed forces.

The awards ceremony in Astana formally acknowledged the achievements of Kazakhstan’s top military personnel. The emphasis on technology, mobility, and personnel development reflects ongoing efforts to modernise the country’s defence capabilities. No details were released regarding the 2025 edition of the Army’s Elite contest.
