Wisconsin unveils bold new license plate designs for drivers
Wisconsin drivers will soon have two new license plate designs to choose from. The state is introducing a blackout plate and a retro butter-yellow plate, both available for order next month. These additions bring the total number of specialty plates in Wisconsin to nearly 60.
The blackout plate features a solid black background with white lettering and numbers. It offers a sleek, modern look for motorists. The butter-yellow plate, meanwhile, revives the design from Wisconsin’s 1970s plates, giving it a nostalgic touch.
The two new plates will join Wisconsin’s existing range of nearly 60 specialty options. Orders open next month, giving drivers more ways to customize their vehicles. The extra revenue will directly support ongoing road maintenance projects.
