Wolfsburg Names Former VW Board Member Hans Dieter Pötsch as Honorary Citizen
Wolfsburg has named Hans Dieter Pötsch, former board member of Volkswagen AG, as an honorary citizen. The city council made this decision on October 1st, following Mayor Dennis Weilmann's suggestion. Pötsch will receive the award, the highest a municipality can bestow, on December 1st during the Advent conversation between the city and Volkswagen.
Pötsch, born in 1951 in Traun, Austria, served as Volkswagen AG's board member responsible for finance and controlling from 2003 to 2015. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in securing the plant and the city's future during challenging times. Mayor Dennis Weilmann praised Pötsch's significant contributions to the company's and Wolfsburg's economic strength.
The official presentation of the honorary citizenship will take place on December 1st during the Advent conversation between the city and Volkswagen. Pötsch is the 24th recipient of this prestigious award.
