Woman, 49, Seriously Injured in Zehlendorf Hit-and-Run
A 49-year-old woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident in Zehlendorf yesterday morning. The incident occurred at around 9:30 AM on Berlepschstraße, opposite Ludwigsfelder Straße, when a cyclist allegedly swerved into her path.
The driver, who was heading towards Ludwigsfelder Straße, was unable to avoid a collision. Her car hit a mailbox, causing it to overturn. She managed to free herself and was rushed to the hospital with a head injury and a wrist sprain. The cyclist involved, whose identity remains unknown, fled the scene without stopping. The police have since taken over the investigation, closing Berlepschstraße temporarily for accident investigation and vehicle recovery. This closure affected BVG bus line 115.
The investigation into the hit-and-run accident is ongoing, led by the specialized traffic crime unit of the police directorate 4 (South). Anyone with information about the cyclist involved is urged to contact the authorities.
