Woman Injured After Losing Control, Crashing into Lamp Post in Neukölln
A serious incident occurred in Neukölln yesterday afternoon. A 44-year-old woman was injured after losing control of her vehicle and colliding with a lamp. The accident happened around 12:30 PM while she was attempting to leave a parking spot on Neukölln Street.
The woman, driving with a 55-year-old passenger, broke through a closed parking barrier and crossed the street before crashing into a lamp post. Both occupants sustained injuries. The passenger was treated at a hospital, while the driver was airlifted to the same facility where she underwent emergency surgery. Her life is not believed to be in danger.
The Berlin Fire Department responded swiftly, disconnecting the damaged lamp from the power and removing it. Neukölln Street between Groß-Ziethener Chaussee and Bildhauerweg was closed to traffic during the on-site operations. The further investigation is being handled by the Traffic Crime Investigation Unit of Police Directorate 4 (South).
