Woman jailed for 18 years after multiple murder attempts on ex-partner
A 33-year-old woman has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for attempting to murder her ex-partner. The verdict came after a lengthy jury trial that concluded on 13 November 2024. She had plotted multiple times to kill him, driven by the prospect of inheriting around €3 million.
The woman first tried to poison her ex-partner by serving him a drink laced with methanol and psilocybin mushrooms. Later, she gave him muffins and tablets containing Rohypnol and Sirdalud. Both attempts failed.
The case ended with an 18-year sentence and a financial award to the victim. The woman's actions, including staged attacks and poisoning attempts, were deemed severe enough to warrant long-term detention. She will remain under supervision even after serving her prison time.
