Man in custody following alleged rape at train station - Woman outsmarts attacker after violent assault near Bavarian train station
A woman was attacked shortly after leaving a train at Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm station in Upper Bavaria. The assault happened in the early hours of Tuesday, and police later arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the incident.
The attack began as the woman and the suspect exited the train together. The man allegedly assaulted her near the station, leaving her with minor injuries. During the struggle, the woman pretended to lose consciousness, prompting the assailant to flee.
She then flagged down a passing car, and the driver immediately called the police. Authorities later arrested the suspect at an asylum seeker accommodation in Manching. The man now faces investigation for suspected rape, assault, and theft.
No similar incidents of sexualised assaults or violent crimes have been reported in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm or the wider Upper Bavaria region over the past year.
The arrested suspect remains in custody while investigations continue. The woman received medical attention for her injuries, and police are gathering further evidence in the case. No additional threats to public safety have been identified in the area.
