Woman's Phone Stolen at Ostkreuz: Suspect Arrested After Chase
An 18-year-old woman's phone was stolen at Ostkreuz S-Bahn station. The suspect, a 26-year-old man, was later apprehended in Friedrichshain after a witness intervention and a chase involving the woman. The incident began when the suspect bumped into the woman on the platform and took her phone. When she confronted him, he pushed her onto an escalator, causing her to fall. The woman gave chase, and a witness restrained the man until police arrived. The suspect was then transferred to the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) for investigation. The stolen smartphone was returned to its owner, who was uninjured. The suspect is currently under examination by the homicide commission and public prosecutor's office. The suspect, a 27-year-old man, was arrested following the incident in Friedrichshain. The stolen smartphone was recovered, and the victim was unharmed. Investigations are ongoing.
