Women in Global Entertainment Share Resilience Stories at MIPCOM
MIPCOM's Women In Global Entertainment Power Lunch, held at Hotel Majestic in Cannes, brought together some of television's most senior industry executives. This year's theme was resilience, with panelists including Lauren Tempest from Hulu, Kate Phillips from BBC, and Justine Ryst from YouTube France and southern Europe. The event was opened by Jeanie Pyun, THR's deputy editorial director, and hosted by British comedian and former TV exec Cally Beaton.
The panelists shared their experiences and insights on resilience in the media industry. Justine Ryst spoke about setting boundaries with work to accommodate her children's needs, while Lauren Tempest advised embracing the hard moments and responding quickly to challenges. Kate Phillips discussed the importance of speaking up against bad behavior and the need for resilience in the industry for women. The event was sponsored by A&E and had The Hollywood Reporter as its official media partner. The creator economy, particularly YouTube, was a key focus at MIPCOM this year.
