Man Suffers Severe Burns on Orchard - Worker critically burned after harvesting machine hits overhead power line
A 37-year-old man is in hospital after suffering severe burns in a workplace accident at a fruit orchard near Schwechow in Pritzier. The incident involved his self-propelled harvesting machine striking an overhead power line, causing a fire that destroyed the machine and resulted in an estimated €100,000 worth of damage.
The man was standing beside the machine when it struck the power line, leading to a short circuit and a blaze that engulfed the harvesting machine, burning it completely. Firefighters were swiftly called to the scene and managed to extinguish the fire. A technician from the local energy provider was also dispatched to inspect the damaged power line. The injured man was rushed to a hospital in Schwerin for treatment. Authorities have begun an investigation into the accident.
