Man Suffers Severe Burns on Orchard - Worker critically burned after harvesting machine hits overhead power line

A 37-year-old man is in hospital after suffering severe burns in a workplace accident at a fruit orchard near Schwechow in Pritzier. The incident involved his self-propelled harvesting machine striking an overhead power line, causing a fire that destroyed the machine and resulted in an estimated €100,000 worth of damage.

The man was standing beside the machine when it struck the power line, leading to a short circuit and a blaze that engulfed the harvesting machine, burning it completely. Firefighters were swiftly called to the scene and managed to extinguish the fire. A technician from the local energy provider was also dispatched to inspect the damaged power line. The injured man was rushed to a hospital in Schwerin for treatment. Authorities have begun an investigation into the accident.

The incident has caused significant property damage, with the harvesting machine being completely destroyed. The man's condition is unknown, but he is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Schwerin. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
