World Leaders Back Gaza Peace Talks as Anwar Urges Malaysian Support
The world's gaze, including nations like Egypt and Qatar, and organisations such as Hamas, is intently focused on the ongoing peace reconciliation efforts in the Gaza Strip. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged Malaysians to support these global peace initiatives.
Anwar Ibrahim, during a press conference, stressed that Malaysians should avoid politicising Malaysia's role in the Gaza peace process. He expressed deep concern for the civilians enduring hardship and loss of life in Gaza. The Prime Minister appealed to U.S. President Donald Trump, who is set to attend the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur this month, to ensure the successful signing and implementation of the Gaza peace agreement. Trump, who began his second term on January 20, 2025, is expected to play a significant role in the peace talks.
Anwar Ibrahim's call for unity and support in the Gaza peace efforts reflects Malaysia's commitment to international peace initiatives. With the U.S. President's upcoming visit, hopes are high that the Gaza peace agreement will be signed and implemented, ending the long-standing Israel war and bringing relief to the civilians of Gaza.
