Wuppertal’s ‘Season of Shooting Stars’ lights up Christmas for 400 children
The 'Season of Shooting Stars' campaign in Wuppertal is set to bring joy to local children and young people this Christmas. Running from November 17 to December 5, the campaign aims to grant nearly 400 wishes, just as it has done for the past two decades. Wish stars and gifts are collected and dropped off at the administration building in Elberfeld at Neumarkt. Social workers will ensure these presents reach children and young people in time for Christmas, including those from the Wichernhaus youth residential groups, socio-therapeutic children and youth services, 'Alte Feuerwache' neighborhood center, and Hardt playground house. The campaign relies on sponsors to make these wishes come true. For €20, sponsors can take on a 'wish star' and purchase the requested gift or a suitable voucher. Despite the campaign's success, information about sponsors for 2025 and the number of sponsored wish stars is not yet available. The 'Season of Shooting Stars' campaign continues its two-decade tradition of spreading Christmas joy among Wuppertal's children and young people. With your help, nearly 400 wishes can be granted, making this holiday season brighter for many.
