Würzburg seeks 2,000 private beds for Catholic Day - Würzburg gears up for Germany’s 2026 Catholic Convention with community lodging push
Würzburg is preparing to host the German Catholic Convention from May 13 to 17, 2026. Organisers expect up to 30,000 attendees under the motto ‘Take courage, stand up!’ and are now seeking lodging support from local residents.
The main event, organised by the Central Committee of German Catholics, will feature worship services, cultural events, and discussions on current issues. To accommodate the large number of visitors, planners are aiming to secure at least 2,000 beds through private hosts. So far, 100 individuals from parish communities have registered to offer lodging.
With preparations underway, the event will rely on community support to house thousands of participants. The event's success depends on local involvement, as organisers work to finalise lodging arrangements before May 2026.
