Wust's district meetings go local to boost resident engagement
Local district meetings in Wust have changed their format to better engage residents. The first session under the new system took place at Plaue's civic centre instead of the town hall. Officials discussed key issues like road repairs, illegal dumping, and noise protection.
The updated approach moves quarterly meetings between district heads and residents to different neighbourhoods. Previously, all sessions were held at the town hall. The shift aims to make discussions more accessible to the communities involved.
At the initial meeting in Plaue, topics included winter road maintenance, pothole repairs, and concerns over illegal waste disposal. Noise protection measures in Wust were also on the agenda. No details have been released yet on how many districts will participate in the rotating schedule.
The new format will see future meetings hosted in various neighbourhoods across the area. Residents will no longer need to travel to the town hall to take part. Officials have not confirmed which locations will follow Plaue as the next venue.
