Wyoming lawmakers hear urgent calls for better school funding and teacher pay

Four Wyoming Legislators - Senator Bo Biteman and Representatives Marilyn Connolly, Barry Crago, and Tom Kelly - attended a legislative listening session at Arvada-Clearmont School on November 11. The legislators expressed their willingness to listen to constituents' concerns, with many attendees being teachers and staff from the school. The main issues discussed were school funding and staff salaries.

The session began with Senator Bo Biteman discussing schools in Sheridan County. Tom Kelly talked about recalibration during the event. Clearmont teacher Jonathan Broersma, among others, expressed concerns about teacher salaries and hiring difficulties. Mayor Chris Schock attended the meeting and spoke about local control, engaging in an exchange with Representative Marilyn Connolly. Representative Barry Crago also commented during the event.

The legislators, having heard the concerns of their constituents, are prepared to address school funding and staff salaries in the upcoming session. They have invited further communication via email for those who wish to share more on these topics.
