Yakutia Aims to Halve Poverty by 2029 with 29 Ambitious Projects
Yakutia, the largest republic in Russia, is taking significant steps to combat poverty. The regional government, led by Head Aisen Nikolaev, has developed 29 projects aimed at reducing the poverty rate and improving the lives of its citizens.
The ambitious goal is to decrease the poverty rate from the current 15.6% to 7.8% by 2029. This would lift at least 70,000 people out of poverty, marking a substantial improvement from the 19.6% rate recorded five years ago.
To achieve this, the projects focus on various aspects such as improving social infrastructure, enhancing employment opportunities, and increasing access to quality education and healthcare. Nikolaev's vision is to halve poverty in the republic by the end of the decade.
While Yakutia faces challenges like high inflation, currently at 12.5%, and being among the regions with the most expensive fuel, the commitment to poverty reduction is unwavering. The 29 projects, though led by unidentified individuals, are a testament to the republic's dedication to improving the lives of its people.
