Yakutia Unveils Two New Cultural and Sports Hubs on Unity Day

Two new cultural and sports centers have opened in the Sakha Republic, Yakutia, marking significant milestones in the region's development. The centers in Byrakan and Beke were inaugurated on Unity Day, with local government officials and community leaders in attendance.

The Byrakan Culture and Sports Center spans 760 square meters and includes a multipurpose hall for various activities, along with administrative offices. Meanwhile, the Beke Culture and Sports Complex, also covering 760 square meters, boasts a gym, locker rooms, a medical office, and cultural facilities to cater to the community's diverse needs.

These openings are part of Yakutia's ongoing efforts to improve cultural and sports infrastructure. In 2025, the region opened the Atamaysky Multipurpose Leisure Center and the Vasily Mestnikov Center for Cultural Development. Earlier, the Sargy Tuhulgete Social and Cultural Center was built in Krestyakh, Suntar District, under the 'Culture' initiative. Since 2018, a total of 58 such centers have been completed across Yakutia through various funding sources.

The openings in Byrakan and Beke mark the 101st and 102nd facilities completed in Megino-Kangalassky District under the 'My Yakutia in the 21st Century' program. These centers align with the 'Family' project, aiming to create vibrant, inclusive spaces for local communities to engage in cultural and sports activities.
