Yakutia's 1% microloans empower military families to launch businesses

A new initiative in Yakutia is helping participants in the special military operation and their families launch or grow their businesses. The Republic's Entrepreneurship Development Fund offers subsidised microloans to those who complete specific training programs. So far, 21 people—including 7 operation participants and 14 relatives—have taken part in the scheme across Yakutsk and other districts. The programme works by linking financial support to education. Those who finish either the SVOye Delo or SVOY Biznes course at the Moy Biznes Center become eligible for a low-interest loan. This training ensures participants gain essential skills before accessing funding. The Start for Beginners scheme provides loans of up to 2 million rubles at an annual interest rate of just 1%. Unlike similar programmes elsewhere, this offer is exclusive to Yakutia, making it a unique opportunity for local entrepreneurs. The fund's support targets both new startups and existing businesses looking to expand. By combining training with affordable financing, the initiative aims to boost economic activity among military families in the republic. The programme has already attracted 21 participants from different parts of Yakutia. With loans of up to 2 million rubles at 1% interest, it provides a rare chance for military families to build or scale their businesses. The scheme remains available only in Yakutia, setting it apart from other regional support systems.
