Yakutia’s 4,000 Cultural Volunteers Unite to Support Soldiers and Heritage

Nearly 4,000 volunteers in Yakutia have united under the regional branch of the All-Russian public movement Cultural Volunteers. They support mobilized soldiers and their families through various initiatives, including sewing workshops, aid distribution, and cultural activities.

The Cultural Volunteers movement, established in 2019, aims to foster communication between public and state institutions. It is part of the Dobro.rf Association and supported by Yakutia’s Ministry of Culture. Maria Turantaeva, Deputy Minister of Culture and Spiritual Development, emphasizes the broad approach to culture and the importance of volunteers in cultural events and daily life.

Volunteers assist in numerous ways. Circus artist Dyulustan Sofronov, a volunteer for three years, supports families of special military operation participants with leisure activities and events. Meanwhile, Yekaterina Sergeyenko, head of the National Archive’s information services department, welcomes volunteers to contribute in various areas of the archive’s work.

The Second Republican Forum of Cultural Volunteers, attended by federal experts, provided new knowledge to support Yakutia’s cultural institutions. With nearly 4,000 volunteers united, the movement continues to promote volunteering in culture and heritage preservation, fostering communication between public and state institutions, and unlocking the nation’s creative potential.
