Yakutsk Mayor Boosts Street Cleaners' Pay, Adds Perks
Yakutsk's mayor, Yevgeny Grigoryev, has announced a series of improvements for the city's street cleaners. The initiative, supported by Vitaly Obedin, head of the Yakut branch of the 'Party of Deeds', includes free public transport and increased salaries.
Previously, the city hall provided free public transport to street cleaners on city and suburban routes. Now, plans are underway to expand this service to cover more workers.
Obedin, a journalist, backed the mayor's proposal. He also suggested additional bonuses for street cleaners, such as seasonal work clothes, identifying vests and jackets, quality equipment, and hot meals. The mayor, in response, proposed an economically justified salary of around 40,000 rubles for these workers.
To ensure direct comparability with previous performance, the city administration has commissioned the smallest and medium-sized enterprises for street cleaning services. These are companies with up to 15 employees.
Yakutsk's street cleaners will benefit from free public transport and increased salaries, with additional bonuses also on the table. The city administration aims to improve working conditions and ensure fair compensation for these essential workers.
