Yekaterinburg is set to celebrate the 'Year of Ural Rock' in 2026, with a packed calendar of events and initiatives. The local government has allocated around 50 million rubles for the programme, which will include tours, exhibitions, festivals, concerts, and special themed school lessons. The year will kick off with a major 'rock house concert' on February 4, featuring performances from some of the region's most legendary bands.

The 'Year of Ural Rock' will pay tribute to the region's rich musical heritage, with plans for a documentary, exhibitions, a rock-themed ice town, and new murals. Five or six schools in the region will receive musical gifts, including Gymnasia No. 45 and School No. 36. The concert on February 4 will feature performances by Chayf, Agata Kristi, Smyslovye Gallyutsinatsii, Aprelsky Marsh, Top, and Urfin Jus. Albert Potapkin, a former member of Nautilus Pompilius and Agata Kristi, will also take the stage.

Proceeds from the concert will go to charity, funding musical instruments and equipment for school bands. A commemorative plaque honouring Agata Kristi has been installed on the building of the Institute of Radio Electronics and Information Technology. The organizer of the Culture Department in Yekaterinburg who declared the Year of Ural Rock and allocated the corresponding funds is Andrey Shantsev.

Following the concert, a 'Legendary Autograph Session' with the musicians will take place, giving fans a chance to meet their idols. The 'Year of Rock' promises to be a thrilling celebration of Ural's musical legacy, with something for everyone to enjoy.
