Zahid Dismisses Khairy Return Speculation, Umno Uncertain
Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has dismissed speculation about Khairy Jamaluddin's potential return to the party. Zahid clarified that there have been no formal discussions within Umno about Khairy's comeback.
Khairy, who was expelled from Umno in 2016, addressed Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin's remarks on his potential return. He stated, 'I never left Umno. You guys expelled me.'
Zahid and Khairy last met at a wedding, but they did not discuss Khairy's potential return. Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki recently announced that Khairy's possible return is under discussion, but no final decision has been made yet.
While Khairy has expressed his stance on his potential return, Umno's leadership, including Zahid, has not shown any indication of welcoming him back. The party's final decision remains uncertain.
