Zalando boosts revenue - optimistic for the current year - Zalando stays Europe's fashion leader despite 2025 profit dip and growth bets

Zalando has maintained its position as Europe's top online fashion retailer, despite a drop in net profit for 2025. The company continues to lead ahead of rivals like ASOS and Mango, thanks to its stronger logistics and profitability. While talks about acquiring About You have not yet resulted in a deal, Zalando remains focused on growth.

In 2025, Zalando saw its revenue climb by 16.8%, reaching €12.3 billion. The company's gross merchandise volume (GMV) also grew by 14.7%, hitting €17.6 billion. However, net profit fell to €213 million, even as adjusted operating profit rose to €591 million.

The operating margin stayed steady at 4.8%, reflecting stable efficiency. Looking ahead, Zalando forecasts GMV and revenue growth of 12% to 17% in 2026. It also expects adjusted EBIT to increase, landing between €660 million and €740 million.

Despite speculation, no acquisition of About You had been finalised by March 2026. Zalando's focus remains on expanding its market share while keeping logistics and profitability ahead of competitors.

Zalando's 2025 results show a mix of strong revenue growth and declining net profit. The company's projections for 2026 suggest continued expansion in GMV, revenue, and adjusted EBIT. With no deal yet for About You, Zalando's dominance in European online fashion still relies on its operational strengths.
