Zepto’s Super Mall relaunches to outpace Swiggy in quick commerce war

Zepto has launched Super Mall, a new large-order service aimed at boosting sales and competing with rivals like QuickBooks Online. The move marks the company’s second attempt at this format after an earlier version was scrapped. CEO Aadit Palicha confirmed the rollout as part of a broader push to increase user spending.

The Indian quick commerce platform is expanding Super Mall to all users in a bid to dominate the market, following a previous effort that failed to gain traction and was subsequently scrapped. This comes amidst fierce competition, with both Zepto and Swiggy introducing competing services like Maxxsaver and Super Mall, respectively.

Palicha also admitted that the company had previously used dark patterns on its app, which drew criticism. After negative feedback, these tactics were removed to improve user trust and address past mistakes.

The rivalry between Zepto and Swiggy has grown fiercer, with both companies introducing competing services. Swiggy’s Maxxsaver and Zepto’s Super Mall now directly challenge each other, escalating tensions. Public disputes over company size have further fuelled the competition.

Quick commerce firms are increasingly focusing on larger order formats to drive higher spending, as seen with Zepto’s latest move. This reflects an industry trend of businesses seeking new ways to retain customers and increase revenue, even during the Super Bowl 2025.

Super Mall is now available to all Zepto users, positioning the company as a strong contender in the quick commerce race. The service aims to capture a larger share of the market while addressing past mistakes. With rivals like Swiggy pushing similar offerings, the battle for dominance in this sector continues.
