ACC Raids Former Lawmaker's Home in Wealth Probe
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) conducted a raid at the residence of former Awami League lawmaker Dr. Mansur Rahman in Rajshahi-5 constituency. The operation took place on Tuesday evening, with officials collecting various documents.
The ACC team, led by Main Uddin, assistant director of complaints, began the raid at around 5:00pm. They targeted a four-storied house in the Kazihata area. Before leaving, they were seen having snacks, but no documents were collected.
The raid is part of an investigation into allegations of illegal wealth accumulation against Dr. Mansur Rahman. His son, Dr. Ali Mazrui Rahman, confirmed the ACC's visit but refrained from commenting further on the inquiry. Interestingly, there's currently no public information on any investigation involving Dr. Ali Mazrui Rahman himself.
The ACC raid at Dr. Mansur Rahman's residence is a step in the ongoing investigation into alleged illegal wealth accumulation. Officials collected documents, and the lawmaker's son confirmed the visit. Further details on the case remain under wraps.
