Aftab Pureval Wins Second Term as Cincinnati Mayor
Aftab Pureval has secured a second term as mayor of Cincinnati. The democratic candidate won Tuesday's election, continuing his political journey that began as a lawyer.
Pureval's victory comes after winning the all-party municipal primary in May with a landslide 80% of the vote. In the general election, he defeated Cory Bowman, who is the half-brother of JD Vance, the current US Senator.
Pureval's political career began in 2021 when he was first elected mayor. Prior to this, he worked as a lawyer. His party preference is Democratic Party, although the mayoral office in Cincinnati is officially nonpartisan.
Aftab Pureval's reelection as Cincinnati's mayor reflects his strong support among voters. His legal background and democratic affiliation have not hindered his success in the officially nonpartisan role.
