Bavaria Launches Paid Political Communications Traineeship for 2026
Traineeship Combining Traditional Press Work with Social Media and Strategic Communications
This traineeship merges classic press relations with social media engagement and long-term planning. Trainees draft press materials, handle media inquiries, assist with press conferences, and cover parliamentary events for the state legislature's website and social channels. They also contribute to communications strategies, manage online communities, and support video production.
The program includes in-house training at a journalism school as well as external placements, including stints in media house editorial teams. Ideal candidates hold a university degree, have initial experience in journalism or public relations, and possess strong social media skills paired with a solid grasp of political issues. Applicants should also demonstrate excellent writing ability, teamwork, and the capacity to distill complex political topics into clear, accessible content.
The role offers structured professional development in a political setting, flexible working hours, approximately 30 days of annual leave, remuneration aligned with public-sector collective bargaining (TV-L), and additional benefits such as training opportunities, wellness programs, and corporate perks. Applications will be accepted until March 6, 2026.
