Berlin police arrest suspect after car vandalism spree in Britz district
A 25-year-old man was arrested in Berlin’s Britz district last night after allegedly damaging cars and breaking into one. The suspect was caught following a chase near Blaschkoallee U-Bahn station after a resident raised the alarm. The incident began around 11 p.m. on Teterower Straße when a local heard loud banging. He then saw a man next to his parked car and noticed fresh damage. The resident immediately gave chase as the suspect fled toward the nearby U-Bahn station.
Police arrived quickly and apprehended the man at Blaschkoallee. Officers later found items in his possession that matched descriptions of goods stolen from the targeted vehicle. Investigations revealed he had also vandalised several other parked cars in the area. The suspect remains in custody and is due to appear before a magistrate later today.
The case is still under investigation. Police continue to gather evidence related to the vandalism and theft. Further details will be released as the inquiry progresses.
