Bishkek enforces 10 PM curfew to silence late-night noise
Bishkek City Hall has implemented a new order to curb late-night noise and disturbance. Effective immediately, entertainment venues must shut down by 10:00 PM, with electrical appliances powered down at the same time. This move aligns with Kyrgyzstan's quiet hours law, adopted late last year.
The new rules, issued by Bishkek City Hall, aim to reduce noise pollution and ensure residents' peaceful sleep. Venues located far from residential areas can use generators, but they must adhere to the Law on Quiet Hours. Failure to comply may result in power shutdowns. Earlier this year, on November 13th, a verbal directive was issued, threatening cafés and restaurants with power cuts if they did not close by 10:00 PM. This directive was reinforced by Kamchybek Tashiev, the head of the State Committee for National Security.
Bishkek's entertainment venues now have a 10:00 PM curfew to maintain quiet hours. Venues in remote areas can use generators, but all must comply with the quiet hours law. Non-compliance may lead to power shutdowns, as previously warned.
