Bremen Offers €30,000 in Grants to Empower Youth Through Crime Prevention

Bremen's Crime Prevention Cooperation Office (KSKP) has launched a new funding initiative for local projects. A total of €30,000 in grants is available to support community-based schemes aimed at empowering young people. The programme encourages applications that focus on crime prevention and social engagement. The initiative targets projects with a strong local focus, particularly those involving community stakeholders. Cross-district collaborations are also welcome, broadening the potential impact of the funded work. Organisers hope to see proposals that help children and adolescents develop critical skills.

The goal is to teach young people how to reflect on values, respect differences, and resolve conflicts constructively. Interior Senator Dr. Eva Högl highlighted the importance of youth taking responsibility within their communities. She stressed that active participation can build stronger, safer neighbourhoods.

Applications must be submitted by April 13, 2026. Each proposal will be reviewed by the KSKP alongside police prevention specialists. Further details and the application form can be found at www.kriminalpraevention.bremen.de. The funding aims to strengthen local crime prevention networks by supporting grassroots initiatives. Successful projects will receive financial backing to implement their plans. Organisers expect the scheme to foster long-term engagement among young people in Bremen.
