Car strikes cyclist at Delmenhorst intersection in early-morning crash
A collision between a car and a bicycle took place in Delmenhorst early on Tuesday morning. The incident happened at around 7:20 a.m. at the junction of Kuhlmannsweg and Deichweg. Police have since opened an investigation into the event. A 51-year-old driver was behind the wheel of a Renault, attempting to turn left from Kuhlmannsweg into Deichweg. As the motorist made the turn, they failed to spot a 67-year-old cyclist approaching from the right. The cyclist, who had the right of way, was struck by the vehicle.
The impact caused the cyclist to fall, resulting in minor injuries. Emergency services attended the scene shortly after the collision.
Authorities are now examining the circumstances of the crash. The injured cyclist received medical attention for their wounds. The investigation will determine whether further action is required.
