Chaos erupts as man assaults staff and steals from German supermarket
A 37-year-old man entered a supermarket on Henneberger Straße in Meiningen on early Thursday evening.
He verbally abused passersby, customers, and staff, and when asked to leave the store, he grabbed several items, threatened an employee, and walked past the checkout without paying.
When the employee attempted to detain him, the man shoved him aside and ultimately fled the scene.
Police located and apprehended the suspect nearby. The 37-year-old now faces charges including robbery by theft and making threats.
