Reutlingen (ots) – Reutlingen (RT): Failure to Yield Right of Way (Witness Appeal)
Police in Reutlingen are seeking witnesses to a traffic accident that reportedly occurred Thursday morning at Stöfflerplatz, at the junction of Roßbergstraße and Lichtensteinstraße in the Göningen district. According to current investigations, a 54-year-old man was riding his S-pedelec (speed e-bike) on the priority road Lichtensteinstraße toward the town center around 7:40 a.m. when a red Porsche Cayman with Reutlingen license plates allegedly failed to yield while turning from Roßbergstraße into Lichtensteinstraße. To avoid a collision, the cyclist had to brake so hard that he fell. There was no contact between the vehicles. The Porsche driver, who may not have even noticed the accident, continued without stopping. Police were only notified some time later. It was later determined that the 54-year-old suffered minor injuries in the fall and required medical treatment after the incident was documented. Witnesses are asked to contact Reutlingen Police Station at +49 7121 942-3333. (cw)
Reutlingen (RT): Door Opened Carelessly (Witness Appeal)
A 71-year-old woman caused a traffic accident on Thursday morning in Storlachstraße after failing to check for oncoming traffic before opening her car door. Shortly before 9 a.m., the woman had parked her Ford on the right side of the road. Without ensuring the coast was clear, she opened the door to exit. A 16-year-old cyclist passing the parked Ford at the same moment had no chance to react and crashed into the opening door. The impact sent him tumbling, and he then collided with the rear wheel of an oncoming car. While the driver of that vehicle likely noticed the collision, they did not stop. An ambulance took the 16-year-old to the hospital with injuries of as-yet-undetermined severity. The material damage to both vehicles is estimated at nearly €1,000. Witnesses are asked to call Reutlingen Police Station at +49 7121 942-3333. (cw)

The courier is described as approximately 45 years old, around 175 cm tall, of slim build, with short brown hair, and speaking accent-free German. He was wearing a dark jacket. Witnesses who noticed suspicious activity or individuals in the Guckenrain residential area on Thursday afternoon are asked to contact Kirchheim Police Station at +49 7021 501-0.
