Singuilucan, Hidalgo—Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has urged citizens to "add more floors" to the self-styled Fourth Transformation, aiming to continue building prosperity for the country.

Speaking at the distribution of social welfare programs in Singuilucan, Hidalgo, the president emphasized that her administration is defending Mexico's sovereignty amid the investigation into U.S. agents operating in Chihuahua.
"This is what we do in Mexico's government—we serve the people. And we also defend the nation's sovereignty," she declared. She accused past governments—those before Andrés Manuel López Obrador—of working only for a privileged few.

"Now, in 2024, the people decided for the first time to elect a woman as president, and we said: 'The Fourth Transformation has begun—let's build a second floor.' And then a third, a fourth, a fifth, to keep building prosperity," she stated.
"Then Andrés Manuel López Obrador came to lead—a great president of our country, on par with Lázaro Cárdenas and Benito Juárez. Carlos Salinas de Gortari fell just short of privatizing the air."
Addressing the crowd, Sheinbaum highlighted that 42 million Mexicans now receive welfare benefits, including support for healthcare, housing, and education, among other areas.
She also noted that efforts are underway to rebuild roads in communities affected by last year's rains and flooding.
