Estonia Names Veteran Diplomat Tiina Intelmann as New Ambassador to Ukraine
Estonia has appointed a new ambassador to Ukraine after replacing the previous envoy. President Alar Karis named Tiina Intelmann as the country’s top diplomat in Kyiv. The decision brings decades of foreign service experience to the role. Intelmann has worked at the Estonian Foreign Ministry since 1991. Her career includes postings as ambassador to Israel and the United Kingdom. She also served as the EU’s ambassador to Somalia.
Before this appointment, Anneli Kolk held the position in Ukraine. Intelmann now takes over the role while continuing her work as a special representative. Her current focus covers multilateralism and peace mediation. The new ambassador brings a long diplomatic record to Kyiv. Her experience spans Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The change follows Estonia’s decision to refresh its representation in Ukraine.
