A bank in Wiesbaden was targeted by two unknown assailants in an overnight break-in attempt. The incident caused significant damage but failed to breach the building’s security. Police have launched an investigation into the failed robbery. The attack took place late at night when two men in hooded jackets tried to force their way into the bank. They hurled a heavy manhole cover at the glass entrance door, shattering part of it. Despite the violent attempt, the assailants did not gain access to the building.
A security patrol noticed the damaged door during a routine inspection. Witnesses later reported seeing the two suspects fleeing the scene on foot. Police confirmed that no money or valuables were taken. Initial estimates place the cost of the property damage at around €5,000. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and gathering witness statements to identify the culprits.
The attempted break-in left the bank’s entrance damaged but its security intact. Police continue to search for the two suspects involved in the incident. Repairs to the building are expected to begin shortly.
