Fayette County man arrested for alleged abuse of 13-year-old relative
A Fayette County man has been arrested after an undercover investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl. Samuel Clinton Newman, 53, was taken into custody on Saturday morning when he arrived at the child’s home. The investigation began on April 27, following a report of abuse. State police worked closely with the victim’s family to gather evidence. Messages, letters, videos, and Facebook activity all confirmed the allegations.
The victim referred to Newman as 'Uncle Sam' and identified him as her cousin. Authorities monitored his movements after learning he planned to meet the child at her home on Friday. When he arrived the next day, officers arrested him without incident. A search of Newman’s belongings uncovered a bookbag containing two blankets and a sex device. The evidence supported the charges against him.
Newman now faces multiple serious charges, including sexual abuse of children, statutory sexual assault, and unlawful contact with a minor. The case will proceed through the Fayette County court system.
