Four drivers face bans after extreme speeding caught on German motorways
Police caught multiple speeding drivers during a Sunday morning operation on two major motorways. Officers used an unmarked video monitoring vehicle to check traffic between 9:15 AM and 11:15 AM. Four motorists now face driving bans and heavy fines for extreme speeding violations. The checks took place on the A61 between the Waldlaubersheim and Rheinböllen junctions, as well as the A63 between Kirchheimbolanden and Alzey. Officers from the Gau-Bickelheim highway police station monitored speeds and distances with a ProVida system installed in an unmarked car.
Five vehicles were stopped for excessive speeding. Four of these drivers broke the limits so severely that they now face penalties in the high three-digit range. Penalty proceedings against them have already begun. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to enforce speed limits on busy motorways. Those caught face immediate legal consequences, including fines and potential driving bans. Authorities continue to use advanced monitoring to target dangerous driving behaviour.
