FREDA Green Academy Welcomes New Leadership After Sburny’s Exit
FREDA, the Green Party Academy named after Freda Meissner-Blau, has seen changes in its leadership. Michaela Sburny, the previous chair, did not seek re-election. Meanwhile, Ines Vukajlović, a state parliamentarian from Upper Austria, has joined the executive board. Johannes Rauch, the former Social Affairs Minister, is now the new chair of the academy.
Freda Meissner-Blau, the academy's namesake, was a prominent Austrian journalist and politician. Born in Dresden on March 11, 1927, she died in Vienna on December 22, 2015. As the first chairwoman of the Austrian Green Party, she also ran for president in 1986.
Michaela Sburny, who previously held the chair position, chose not to run for re-election, leaving the post open for new leadership. Ines Vukajlović, a state parliamentarian from Upper Austria, has accepted a role on the executive board, bringing her political experience to the academy. Johannes Rauch, the former Social Affairs Minister, has stepped into the chair position, taking over from Sburny.
With these changes, FREDA continues to evolve under new leadership. Michaela Sburny's departure has made way for Ines Vukajlović and Johannes Rauch to contribute their unique perspectives and experiences to the academy's mission.
