Voting Templates for Visually Impaired and Blind Voters

Free Voting Templates Empower Blind Voters in State Elections

To ensure equal participation in the state parliamentary elections, associations for the blind and visually impaired offer free voting templates upon request. These can be ordered by calling 0761/36122.

The voting template is placed over the ballot paper, with cutouts marking the boxes where voters make their selection. The template features large, tactile text instructions. Along with the template, a free audio CD is provided, explaining how to use it. The CD also includes a full audio description of the ballot's contents and indicates if any perforations do not correspond to a candidate or party.

Assistance for Casting a Vote

In certain cases, voters may receive help from a trusted person at the polling station or when voting by mail. This applies to individuals who cannot read or write, or who, due to a disability, are unable to mark their ballot, fold it, or place it in the ballot box themselves. The assistant must not influence the voter's choice. The polling station committee must be informed before assistance is provided. A committee member may also serve as an assistant. All assistants are legally bound to maintain confidentiality.

Accessibility of Polling Stations

All polling stations in Ludwigsburg, as well as the electoral office at Wilhelmstraße 1, are wheelchair accessible.
