Slashed Tires on Multiple Caravans Cause Unrest in Freiburg-Wiehre—Police Investigate Criminal Damage

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, authorities revealed that unknown perpetrators had slashed tires on several parked vehicles between Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 15. According to police, at least six caravans and camper vans have been targeted so far.

The damaged vehicles were found in various streets across the Wiehre district, including Wonnhaldestraße, Hans-Thoma-Straße, and Matthias-Grünewald-Straße. Similar incidents were also reported on Beethovenstraße and Lugostraße.

The Freiburg Police Headquarters suspects the cases are part of a series of deliberate criminal damage offenses. The investigation has been taken over by the Freiburg-Süd precinct.
