French driver stopped at German border with illegal weapons in car
A 21-year-old French driver was stopped at the Neuenburg motorway border crossing after German Federal Police discovered prohibited items in his vehicle. Officers found a large hunting knife and a shotgun cartridge during a routine search.
The search took place at the border checkpoint near Neuenburg. When inspecting the car, police uncovered a hunting knife measuring over 30 centimetres in length. A shotgun cartridge was also located inside the vehicle.
The driver failed to give a valid explanation for carrying the items. As a result, authorities confiscated both the knife and the cartridge. Police determined that the man had violated weapons regulations by transporting them without proper justification.
The French national now faces a financial penalty for the offence. The confiscated items remain in police custody. No further charges have been announced at this time.
